Inniswylde – A New Baton Rouge Subdivision

Introduction to “Inniswylde” – A New Baton Rouge Subdivision

Inniswylde is a brand new, 70-lot residential neighborhood located in the heart of Baton Rouge.  Located on West Inniswold Road off of Bluebonnet Boulevard (close to Blue Cross), the neighborhood is close to major thoroughfares (I-10), businesses, major medical facilities, schools, shopping, dining and entertainment venues, yet tucked away in a quiet pocket of the city.

In the early 1930s, a parcel of land was purchased by D.E McInnis from John C. Burden and that open pastureland was called McInnis Farm.  The name Inniswylde draws its roots from the property’s history and features. The McInnis Family was Scottish and they named one of the original streets on the property West Inniswold Road. Translated from Scottish, Inniswold means “world of Innis.”  The property itself and the surrounding neighborhood is lush and green with many mature oaks.  The Scottish spelling of “wylde” speaks to the wild, green nature of the area.
